Purpose

Offer a restful supported position for relaxation and gentle unloading after prolonged standing or sitting.

Starting position

Lie on your back near a wall with the legs supported upward. Choose a distance from the wall that keeps hips and knees comfortable; the knees may stay slightly bent.

How to perform

Let the arms rest, soften the jaw and shoulders and stay still. Focus on calm breathing rather than on stretch intensity.

Breathing

Slow, comfortable breathing with a longer relaxed exhale if that feels pleasant.

What to pay attention to

The legs do not need to be straight. Move further from the wall if the hamstrings pull strongly. Exit slowly by bending the knees and rolling to your side.

Common mistakes

Forcing the hips too close to the wall, locking the knees, turning it into an intense stretch, and getting up abruptly.

Dosage

3–10 minutes, depending on comfort.
