Emotional overload

When there are too many feelings and they pile on top of each other.

Emotional overload

How it usually shows up

  • Tears or numbness without a reason
  • Light, sound and people irritate
  • The wish to disappear

What is happening

Overload is not weakness but a full container. In this state complex practices and analysis do not help: you need to unload and reduce incoming input.

First lower the stimuli, then calm the body, and only after that look at the causes — not the other way around.

Three first steps right now

  1. Turn off sound and screens for 15 minutes.
  2. Lie down and take ten long exhales.
  3. Postpone every decision until tomorrow.
